Zdravo/Hej!

My name is Mina and I was born in Skopje, North Macedonia, but I have been living in Sweden for more or less half of my life. I’ve lived in Gothenburg for the majority of this time and moved to Stockholm 3 years ago to do my bachelor’s in biomedicine here at Karolinska Institutet (KI). Currently I‘m studying the Master’s Programme in Toxicology and I’m the new blogger for the programme.

I’ve always been an extremely curious person, and in combination with my love for biology and human health, I knew that KI would be the perfect university for me. And that is exactly how it was. During my first three years of studies here, I have grown immensely as a person and a scientist. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next two years bring!

Outside of studies, I love spending time with friends, going for fika and exploring new places around Stockholm. I enjoy being around people, so I’m quite involved in the student union, Medicinska Föreningen, as well! However, I also love to be cozy at home and read books or watch movies/TV shows, especially in the colder months. Balance is key, “lagom” as the Swedes say.

A fun fact about me is that I love houseplants, and refuse to accept the fact that I don’t have space for more!
