Hej! My name is Adwika, and I am originally from New Delhi, India. I always loved travelling and understanding different cultures, which is why I did my bachelor’s in biochemistry in Hong Kong and even an exchange semester in Zürich, Switzerland. Now, I’m studying in the Master’s Programme in Biomedicine at KI and will be the blogger for the programme.
Conducting research in my bachelor’s studies made me realise my passion for understanding the molecular basis of diseases and how to treat them. Biochemistry was an interesting realm, but I wanted to go down the translational medicine route and have a more direct impact on human health, be it diagnostics, prevention or treatment. While searching for universities for my future studies, KI always kept on popping up and the course really won me over. Winter is also my favourite season, so choosing KI was an easy decision for me.
In my free time, I quite enjoy hiking, watching movies right when I need to study, taking random buses in the city, cooking, trying new cafés for fika and annoying my friends by taking hundreds of pictures of our food before eating. I also love trying out interesting dishes, like locusts and century-old eggs. I might try “surströmming”, a sour herring dish typical of the north of Sweden, too (but it's a strong maybe).
