Specific entry requirements

- Excellent knowledge in English equivalent to 550 TOEFL credit points. - At least 3 years of studies in medicine (equivalent to 180 ECTS) including passed course's in internal medicine and surgery and basic scientific knowledge. - Ability to take medical history and assess the physical status of a patient - Basic computer skills

Objectives

On completion of the course, the student should be able to: • Recognise, describe, explain and assess common symptoms and clinical findings at common and important diseases and health problem within gynaecology and obstetrics. • Account for which diagnostic methods that are available within the subject area. • Set diagnosis and establish a treatment plan at common health problems within the subject area • Account for the multi-disciplinary and multiprofessional set-up characteristic for the subject area. • Reflect on professional aspects and his own development during the course.

Other directives

Examination The examiner may with immediate effect interrupt a student's clinical rotation (VFU), or the equivalent, if the student demonstrates such serious deficiencies in knowledge, skills or attitudes that patient safety or patient confidence in healthcare is at risk. When clinical rotation is interrupted in this way, it implies that the student fails in the current part and that one clinical rotation opportunity is used up. In such cases, an individual action plan should be set up for required activities and examinations, before the student is given a possibility for a new clinical rotation in the course. Eligibility Student that has failed placement (VFU)/equivalent, since the student has shown so serious deficiencies in knowledge, skills or attitudes that the patient security or the patients' trust for the healthcare have been jeopardised is qualified to new placement only when the individual action plan has been completed.
